The dishwasher market is poised for strong growth in the coming years, driven by rising disposable incomes and increasing demand for convenience-focused appliances, particularly among young, tech-savvy consumers, according to industry insiders.

Traditionally, Vietnamese households have relied on manual dishwashing, with many considering it a more practical and cost-effective option.

But rapid urbanisation, an expanding middle class and increasingly hectic lifestyles have fuelled demand for time-saving home appliances.

Young professionals and dual-income families, particularly in major cities like HCM City and Hà Nội, are embracing dishwashers to reduce household chores, the insiders said.

In Jisoo, director of the home appliance solution division at LG Electronics Vietnam, said: “Twenty years ago, dishwashers were considered a luxury, suitable only for large and affluent families. However, they have now become a far more common and popular product in the market.”

A report by market research firm Statista indicated that in 2025 dishwasher sales would reach US$445.33 million and grow at 4.19 per cent annually until 2030.

The sector now offers a variety of designs, types and price points to suit various consumer needs and financial capacities.

To tap into this growing market, manufacturers have introduced new models featuring advanced technology that enhances cleaning performance, maximises hygiene, and provides greater convenience while reducing water consumption.

LG Electronics, for instance, on March 11 launched its latest Quadwash TrueSteam™ dishwasher in silver colour with innovative features.

In said LG would be expanding its range of kitchen solutions in Việt Nam, with the launch of a new refrigerator designed for the local market at the end of this month.

“LG products are not only consumer-focused but also gender-friendly. When developing kitchen solutions, LG aims to cater to women's preferences in both design and functionality. We believe our innovative technology will ease the burden of housework, simplify cooking experiences, and allow users to enjoy more free time.”
