Bee Distribution Joint Stock Company has opened a 2.6-hectare logistics centre in the service zone of the Đà Nẵng Hi-tech Park, featuring cold storage, distribution facilities and multi-purpose warehousing to support logistics operations in central Việt Nam.

The centre, which was built at a cost of VNĐ200 billion (US$8 million), provides 29,694 pallet positions, offering storage capacity up to 45,000 cubic metres, or 31,500 tonnes, with an annual capacity of 378,000 tonnes.

It’s one of the latest logistics projects in the park in celebration of the city’s Reunification Day (March 29) and will offer smooth options for investors at the park and a key logistics link to the on-going Liên Chiểu deep-sea port and the East-West economic corridors joining up Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Việt Nam.

The flagship logistics centre has been equipped with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS), integrated with barcode scanning and automation technologies to streamline operational processes, along with rooftop solar energy to help reduce energy use.

Đà Nẵng plans to develop as an international-standard logistics centre for Việt Nam ASEAN and the Asia Pacific region by 2030.

The city began construction of the newly designed Liên Chiểu deep-sea port as a key port in the development logistics complex including a new railway station, international-standard warehouses, an inland clearance depot railway and entry point to road connections.

A report from the Việt Nam Logistics Business Association (VLA) unveiled that the central region has 20 deep seaports, but the system only handles 55.5 million tonnes of cargo, or 13 per cent of the country’s sea ports per year.

Đà Nẵng Hi-tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority said six industrial zones, Đà Nẵng Hi-Tech Park and Đà Nẵng IT Park (an IT concentrated Zone) had hosted 521 projects, of which 396 were domestic ones with VNĐ33.9 trillion ($1.35 billion), 125 FDI worth more than $2.2 billion.
