Eurocham elects new board of directors

The newly elected board, comprising a mix of returning and incoming members, is set to build on EuroCham’s successes and drive forward its mission to strengthen Europe-Việt Nam economic relations.

The European Chamber of Commerce in Việt Nam (EuroCham) has successfully convened its Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together hundreds of members in Hà Nội and HCM City to reflect on a year of achievements and elect its 17-member board of directors for the year ahead.

The newly elected board, comprising a mix of returning and incoming members, is set to build on EuroCham’s successes and drive forward its mission to strengthen Europe-Việt Nam economic relations. The board consists of nine directly elected members and eight appointed representatives from EuroCham’s affiliated national business associations.

H.E. Julien Guerrier, EU Ambassador to Việt Nam underscored the significance of the EU-Việt Nam diplomatic partnership, now in its 35th year, as well as the five-year milestone of the EU-Việt Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

Reflecting on the recent high-level dialogue with Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, where EuroCham played a pivotal role in shaping policies for a stronger business climate, Ambassador Guerrier praised the deep and results-driven collaboration between the EU delegation and EuroCham, which continues to unlock new opportunities for growth and investment.

Outlining EuroCham’s roadmap for the year ahead, Chairman Bruno Jaspaert emphasised key strategic priorities. Leading with the EuroCham’s engagement with the European Commission, he is spearheading a delegation to Brussels this week to prepare for the anticipated visit of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and several EU Commissioners to Việt Nam.

Another major milestone on the horizon is the EuroCham Whitebook Launch in Hà Nội on April 11, where EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, Interinstitutional Relations and Transparency – Maroš Šefčovič – is expected to participate, reinforcing both sides' commitment to advancing trade and investment co-operation.

“This country is evolving and EuroCham must adapt to stay ahead,” Chairman Jaspaert said. “Over the next 12 months, I will work closely with the new board to drive tangible value for our members – ensuring their success, whether they are multinationals or SMEs.”
