The visit is aimed at bolstering bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

Both sides agreed to increase high-level exchanges and establish direct communication channels between specialized units within their foreign ministries to coordinate shared concerns.

On defense and security, Vietnam and Thailand pledged to strengthen cooperation in combating transnational crimes and cybercrime while preventing fraud networks from trafficking workers to third countries.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to not allowing any individual or organization to use one country’s territory against the other.

Regarding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, the two top diplomats agreed to work together to raise bilateral trade to US$25 billion in the near future.

To achieve this, both will work to facilitate market access, reduce trade barriers, and limit protectionist measures on each other’s goods.

Both nations also pledged to enhance cooperation in digital economy, e-commerce, and green energy, recognizing these as new areas for economic collaboration.

The foreign ministers agreed to strengthen regional supply chain connectivity, foster business partnerships, and align national growth strategies under the Three Connectivity Strategy.

They agreed to enhance cross-border transport via land and water routes while increasing the frequency of flights between Vietnam and Thailand.

In tourism, both countries will explore measures to increase visitor exchanges, including Thailand’s ‘Six Countries, One Destination’ initiative.

Deputy PM Son also expressed appreciation for Thailand’s support in establishing a Vietnam Town in the Thai province of Udon Thani and the upcoming project in Nakhon Phanom Province.

He urged further cooperation in preserving historical sites related to President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnamese Buddhist temples in Thailand.

Both ministers also agreed to expand Vietnamese and Thai language education programs and encourage province-to-province partnerships.

Beyond bilateral ties, the two ministers discussed international and regional cooperation issues related to ASEAN, the Mekong subregion, and the East Vietnam Sea.
