New $248 million industrial park to be built in Đà Nẵng

The central city’s people’s committee has agreed an investment plan on the development of the 400ha Hòa Ninh Industrial Park – one of the newest IPs – by Thanh Bình-Phú Mỹ company, with a total capital of VNĐ6.2 trillion (US$248 million).

Head of the city’s Hi-Tech park and the Industrial Zones Authority (DHPIZA) Vũ Quang Hùng said the construction of the IP would begin shortly, providing infrastructure facilities for global and domestic investors within one or two years.

The city said that the Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu-based IP investor must start construction on the project within 42 months of the land being handed over by the local authorities.

It said the Hòa Ninh IP is part of the Government’s master plan for industrial park development in the city for 2030-2045, and the park will be built on the edge of the existing Đà Nẵng Hi-Tech Park, along with the on-going construction of a 58.5 hectares in a supportive industries park, all strategic investment projects from domestic and foreign businesses.

The Hòa Ninh IP, along with the Hòa Cầm, Hòa Nhơn IPs has been designed across a total area of 880 hectares, requiring an estimated investment capital of VNĐ13.8 trillion (US$604 million), the city’s investment promotion agency reported.

The three new IZs will be developed as ‘green’ and ‘clean’ parks, aiming to attract hi-tech and environmentally-friendly industries.

Đà Nẵng continues to seek and attract investment in supportive industries.

The Universal Alloy Corporation from the US has been operating its Sunshine Aerospace components manufacturing plant since 2020, while South Korean KP Aero Industries started building a $20 million aircraft manufacturing factory at the Hi-tech Park.

Taiwan’s Foxlink company agreed to build an electronics factory worth $135 million at the park.

South Korea's Dentium, a high-quality implant producer, was given an investment certificate for development of its third plant at the Đà Nẵng Hi-Tech Park, worth US$177 million.

Meanwhile, LG Electronics and Samsung are working together on investment activities in the city.

DHPIZA said six industrial zones, along with Đà Nẵng Hi-Tech Park and Đà Nẵng IT Park – a concentrated IT zone – have drawn 521 projects, of which 396 were domestic with a total investment of VNĐ33.876 trillion ($1.35 billion), and 125 were foreign direct investments worth more than $2.2 billion.
