Local products soon to be on PTT gas stations’ shelves

The Ministry of Commerce and PTT (Cambodia) are collaborating to promote Cambodian products through displaying for sale at PTT gas stations’ Café Amazon branches and convenience stores across 19 capital/provinces.

The commitment was made in a meeting on Thursday led by Tor Pila, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, with participation from senior officials of the Capital-Provincial Department of Commerce, and representatives from PTT (Cambodia).

The meeting was held to review performance, address challenges, and select gas station locations that will sell Cambodian products at the stations across 19 provinces and the capital, Pila said.

“The main purpose of the meeting was to listen to discuss in detail the preparation of the implementation plan for the year 2025 to achieve better results in selecting the locations of PTT petrol stations and the businesses that will sell Cambodian products at the stations across 19 provinces and the capital,” the Pila said.

Representatives from the Capital-Provincial Department of Commerce raised requests and challenges related to the project over the selling of Cambodian products.

The Ministry of Commerce and PTT (Cambodia) signed an MoU on January 17 on cooperation to promote and increase sales of Cambodian products at PTT gas stations’ Café Amazon branches and convenience stores in the country.

This initiative aspires to broaden market opportunities and illuminate the uniqueness of Cambodian products by proudly displaying and selling them at PTT gas stations.

According to the company’s website, as of August 2023, there were 169 PTT Station branches with 231 Café Amazon branches and 65 convenience stores in Cambodia.

Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul has called on entrepreneurs and producers to list their products on online platforms like ‘Cambodia Trade’ to expand Cambodia’s reach to both domestic and international customers.

She encouraged Cambodian companies as well as small and medium enterprises to learn about the possibility of selling products on online platforms to market and promote the export of Cambodian products to the global market.
