Entrepreneurs, producers urged to improve product quality
The Cambodian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) Wednesday urged entrepreneurs to better understand the use of standard labels for products and production systems to boost competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
The call was given during a seminar on ‘Benefits of using standard labels for products and production systems’ to improve product quality and safety, promote competition, and expand the market.
Chhieng Vanmunin, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Chief Executive Officer of Khmer Enterprise, Nguon Meng Tech, Director General of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, Ky Sokkim, CEO of the Skills Development Fund Cambodia, among others, participated in the seminar.
Addressing the workshop, Meng highlighted the CCC’s commitment to help promote the business of Cambodian entrepreneurs to better understand the use of standard labels for products and production systems to boost competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
The capabilities and skills of enterprise owners and employees are very important and are key factors in ensuring product standards and enterprise reputation to ensure market sustainability and long-term competitiveness, he added.
Officials from the Institution of Standard, Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation made presentations on procedures and ways to improve standard production especially in response to the demand in the domestic market and for exports.
Vanmunin emphasized the importance of organizing the production system, which is critical for the success of the business. “The importance of standard labels are very important in building consumer confidence and ensuring product quality, especially products intended for export,” he said.
