The event will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, heard a press briefing in the southern metropolis on Wednesday.

The trade fair is meant to introduce the most advanced global technologies to Vietnamese farmers, businesses, and cooperatives, said Peter Grothues, a member of the Market Council of the German Agricultural Society (DLG).

The event will focus on cutting-edge technologies in key agricultural sectors such as rice, sugarcane, maize, staple crops, coffee, and fruits.

Leading global agricultural technology companies like Agco Corporation and Claas will roll out various programs supporting Vietnamese farmers to improve productivity while maintaining sustainability.

A representative from the Vietnam Trade Promotion Center for Agriculture emphasized that mechanization in agriculture is a critical issue that the government is deeply concerned about, especially in the regions with developed agricultural sectors such as the Mekong Delta and the Central Highlands.

Therefore, the trade fair is seen as very practical, with expectations to create significant value for the industry.

In addition, Agritechnica Asia Vietnam will feature key knowledge-sharing activities through conferences, seminars, and specialized workshops, joined by over 60 speakers.

These sessions will address several major challenges and opportunities related to the industry, with contributions from leading organizations such as the International Rice Research Institute, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany, and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.

The first Agritechnica Asia, which is a premier agricultural trade fair organized by DLG, was held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2017.
