SSI reports Q4 profits of $18.9

Securities company SSI has announced its results for the fourth quarter of last year, with revenues and profit before tax being worth VNĐ2.08 trillion (US$82.6 million) and VNĐ475 billion ($18.9 million).

Full-year revenues were VNĐ8.7 trillion ($345.4 million) and profit was VNĐ3.5 trillion ($139.1 million).

Its revenues from brokerage, custody and investment advisory, VNĐ334 billion for the quarter and VNĐ 1.7 trillion for the whole year, represented a decrease of 14 per cent and an increase of 10.3 per cent.

The decrease in Q4 was mainly due to the fact that market liquidity during the quarter declined by over 30 per cent compared to the earlier part of the year.

SSI maintained its position as the second largest player on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange with a brokerage market share of 9.19 per cent in Q4.

Margin loans and receivables generated revenues of nearly VNĐ571 billion, a 30 per cent increase from the same period last year.

SSI achieved nearly VNĐ2.08 trillion in margin lending revenues for the year, up 32.6 per cent.

Revenues from principal investment activities were VNĐ1.04 trillion in Q4 and VNĐ3.98 trillion for the year, up 4.3 per cent and 27 per cent.

Revenues from treasury for the year were worth VNĐ501 billion. This is a traditional business based on the size of total assets, creditworthiness with financial institutions and interest rates environment.

As of December 31, 2024, SSI’s assets were worth VNĐ72.5 trillion and owner’s equity, VNĐ25.9 trillion, up 5.9 per cent and 15 per cent.
