Major General Le Ngoc Than, Political Chief of the General Department of Defense Industry, told a press briefing on Friday that the three nations had registered to exhibit their products at the 10,000-square-meter space.
As of Monday, over 140 companies from 27 countries had applied to participate as exhibitors at the expo.
The second edition, one of a series of events marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, will showcase 69 types of weaponry and military equipment that have been researched and produced by the Southeast Asian country’s military since 2022.

“This year’s expo will welcome various partners from nations with strong defense industries such as Russia, India, Israel, China, and the United States, [among others],” said Major General Than.
Exhibitors from the United States, Russia, and Italy will showcase their products outdoors, he added.
Than stated that Vietnam has a self-reliant, independent, and resilient defense industry.
However, through the expo, the country seeks to engage with partners and gain insights from nations with advanced and modern defense capabilities.
The exhibition will open to the public from 1:30 pm on December 21 to December 22, and entry for all ages will be free.
Vietnam hosted the first Vietnam International Defense Expo in 2022, attracting 174 enterprises from 30 countries.
