Hanoi Connects - Reaching New Heights highlights innovative products

The program aims to promote women's entrepreneurship, harness local potential, and deliver government-approved projects to help women start their businesses.

The "Hanoi Connects - Reaching New Heights" program, featuring 77 booths showcasing innovative products, OCOP (One Commune One Product) items, and traditional handicrafts made by women from Hanoi and the Red River Delta, is underway at the Lac Long Quan Flower Garden in Tay Ho District from November 8 to 10.

Hosted by the Hanoi Women's Union, the event offers residents and visitors a chance to experience and enjoy specialties from the capital and surrounding provinces.

It also serves as a platform for cooperatives, businesses and women-owned enterprises to network, link production chains and jointly seek solutions to challenges.

This initiative aims to promote women's entrepreneurship, harness local potential, and deliver government-approved projects to help women start their own businesses.

Speaking at the opening of the program on November 8, Le Kim Anh, President of the Hanoi Women's Union, said that this event was the realization of the proposal approved by the Hanoi People's Committee to strengthen the role of women's unions at all levels in building new rural areas and civilized urban environments by 2025.

She underlined that the activity seeks to showcase the potential and creativity of women in contributing to the socio-economic development of Hanoi and the Red River Delta.

"Hanoi, as the political and administrative center of the country, serves as an important hub for business, culture, education, training, science and technology, and international integration," Kim Anh said.

Le Kim Anh, President of the Hanoi Women's Union, speaks at the event.

She added that Hanoi has recently signed cooperation agreements with more than 50 provinces and cities to promote joint development in various sectors, including tourism, industry, services, trade, investment, culture and social affairs.

Moreover, numerous cultural promotion activities and economic initiatives from various regions have been effectively organized in the capital, while Hanoi products are also marketed in cities nationwide, according to Kim Anh.

To date, the city's  OCOP program ranks first in the nation. As of September 2024, Hanoi has evaluated and classified 2,758 products. "This success has been greatly contributed to by women's unions and women in Hanoi, who have developed various economic models and high-quality products," emphasized the President of the Hanoi Women's Union.

As part of the program, the Hanoi Women's Union organized a workshop entitled "Enhancing the Role of Women in Hanoi and the Red River Delta in Supporting Economic Empowerment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Socio-Economic Development".

The workshop also included a signing ceremony for a cooperative program among women's organizations from 11 provinces and cities in the Red River Delta.

During the event, the Hanoi Women's Union awarded prizes to the winners of an online contest for clips on the theme "Women of the Capital Join Hands to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Spaces" posted on the union's Facebook page.

Women's associations from 18 districts and cities entered the contest, with submissions demonstrating significant investment in content, performance, and production quality. With over 20,000 interactions and nearly 9,000 shares, the entries have actively contributed to promoting and highlighting the role of women in Hanoi in building new rural areas and civilized urban spaces.
