Vietnam Consumer Rights Day 2025 theme: ‘Transparent Information - Responsible Consumption’
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued a plan to organise activities in response to Việt Nam Consumer Rights Day 2025, themed ‘Transparent Information - Responsible Consumption.’

The plan aims to encourage participation from state agencies, social organisations, businesses and consumers in related activities. Through this, the ministry seeks to gradually turn Consumer Rights Day into a driving force and a key highlight in the country's socio-economic life, contributing to building a healthy business and consumption environment.
These activities are expected to be practical, effective, creative, and cost-efficient, with an emphasis on the application of information technology. They must align with the objectives and requirements set out in the Law on Consumer Rights Protection and Decision No 1035/QĐ-TTg, dated 10 July 2015, by the Prime Minister regarding Việt Nam Consumer Rights Day.
The Ministry also highlighted that activities promoting consumer rights are encouraged throughout 2025, particularly during peak business and shopping periods such as New Year’s Day, Tết (Lunar New Year), shopping seasons and major market sale days.
Activities to mark Việt Nam Consumer Rights Day will begin with the year-end shopping season in 2024 (November), with a peak focus in March 2025, and will continue throughout the year, depending on the practical situation of various organisations and localities.
Specifically, activities in anticipation of Consumer Rights Day 2025 will be carried out from 15 November 2024 to 28 February 2025. The Ministry has urged government agencies, social organisations, and businesses to proactively organise events or integrate them into their specialised and commercial operations to enhance consumer benefits.
In peak shopping days, periods, or seasons, businesses are encouraged to implement effective tools to safeguard consumer rights, foster positive consumer relationships, and transform the responsibility of promptly meeting consumer demands into a driver for development and competitive market advantage.
"The Ministry of Industry and Trade calls on state agencies to intensify market supervision and inspections, promote awareness, handle consumer complaints, and take firm action against violations of consumer rights and interests. Social organisations are urged to act as representatives and bridges between consumers, government bodies, and the business community," the statement emphasised.
The Ministry also recommended that activities for Việt Nam Consumer Rights Day 2025 be organised regularly and continuously, laying the groundwork for the peak month (March). Depending on specific conditions, these activities can be conducted online or in person.
