VN set up a national steering committee to promote the development of semiconductor industry
Prime Minister (PM) Phạm Minh Chính early this week signed Decision No 791/QĐ-TTg on the establishment of the national steering committee to promote the development of semiconductor industry.

This is a bold effort towards the goal of turning Việt Nam into a global semiconductor chip production hub.
PM Chính is the head of the steering committee.
Other deputy heads include the Minister of Planning and Investment and Minister of Information and Communications.
The steering committee will help the Government and the PM to study, direct and resolve important issues related to promoting the development of the semiconductor industry in Việt Nam.
The steering committee is in charge of researching, providing consultancies, recommendations and solutions to promote the development of the semiconductor industry in Việt Nam, as well as facililtating the coordination between relevant ministries and ministerial-level agencies, Government bodies and organisations to accelerate the semiconductor industry development.
The Vietnamese Government is showing forceful determination in developing the semiconductor industry.
The Minister of Planning and Investment is also developing a project on building the human resources for the semiconductor industry to 2030, with a vision to 2045, aiming to train 50,000 engineers for the industry by 2030.
