PM Hun Manet urges members of Cambodian Oknha Association to invest in northeastern provinces and encourage more visitors

Prime Minister Hun Manet called on members of the Cambodian Oknha Association to invest in the northeastern provinces and encourage more visitors to promote the development of these four provinces.

The premier spoke on Friday during a gala dinner with the Cambodian Oknha Association and the Housing Development Association of Cambodia.

“I urge all members of the Cambodian Oknha Association and Cambodian investors to prioritise investments in the Northeast to ensure the strong development of the four provinces,” Hun Manet underscored.

Prime Minister Hun Manet underlined the importance of building the nation and caring for our land. He encouraged positive actions to support the development and economic growth of the four provinces and to assist the Royal Government in these efforts.

The premier added that he has assigned an engineering team to construct a border ring road extending to the “tail of the dragon”, which will connect the provinces of Kratie, Stung Treng, Mondulkiri and Ratanakiri.

Mr Hun Manet called on people to visit the four northeastern provinces more frequently to alleviate concerns about losing any land there.

He said he supported the nationalist spirit but cautioned against extremism and planned to organise programs to transport young people to see these provinces.

Mr Hun Manet assured those listening that as prime minister he is committed to ensuring that Cambodia does not lose northeastern land and he will establish favourable principles for investment in the region.
