It will become the National Power System and Market Operation One Member Limited Liability (NSMO) under the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC).

According to Prime Minister’s decision, NSMO will be State-wholly owned enterprises with the State capital to be represented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

NSMO has a charter capital of VNĐ776 billion (US$30.9 million).

The Government asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to make preparations to ensure the smooth, stable and efficient operation of NSMO in dispatching and managing electricity market transactions.

The establishment of NSMO must be completed within seven days from August 1.

With regards to two loans worth nearly $3 million to develop the national dispatch centre and information system for the competitive generation market, EVN will continue to be in charge of repaying debts, with the NSMO repaying them later.

The separation of A0 from EVN is a step towards developing a more transparent electricity market while Việt Nam is also promoting the development of renewable energies.

A0 was established in 1994 as a State-owned enterprise under EVN in charge of operating the electricity system and transactions in the electricity market.
