HCM City Mobile Sales-Market Stabilisation Programme gets underway
The Mobile Sales – Market Stabilisation Programme that began in HCM City on August 6 offers steep discounts on numerous essential products.

The month-long programme is organised by the city Department of Industry and Trade, MVCPRO Co., Ltd, and other organisations, in response to the 2024 Shopping Season that seeks to stimulate consumption, promote production and trading, and affirm the city’s position as a modern shopping hub of the country and even region.
Speaking at the opening ceremony held at Dương Đình Nghệ Park in District 11, Nguyễn Nguyên Phương, the department’s deputy director, said the programme aims to bring quality consumer goods at attractive prices, especially to low-income earners.
It also seeks to become an annual event that meets the needs and expectations of both the public and businesses, stimulate consumption, promote commercial activities, and contribute to the city’s economic recovery, he said.
After starting in District 11, the programme will be held alternately in the city’s districts, export processing zones, industrial parks, and high-tech parks.

In its first phase, prestigious domestic and international brands such as Saigon Co.op, MM Mega Market, Suntory Pepsico Vietnam, Wilmar Marketing CLV, Procter & Gamble Vietnam, Bình Tây Food JSC, are taking part with nearly 500 items in 40 essential product groups such as dry foods, spices, confectionery, soft drinks, liquid laundry detergents, fabric softeners, shower gels, shampoos, and toothpastes.
Consumers have the opportunity to buy products at discounts of up to 80 per cent, buy one and get one of the same item free, buy at fixed prices of VNĐ39,000 - VNĐ49,000 or at a mere VNĐ1,000.
When participating in the programme, they also have the chance to get discounts and others worth up to VNĐ50,000 each from e-wallets such as ZaloPay, VNPAY and MoMo.
The organisers expect the programme to reach 300,000 people, attract 100,000 visitors and see 50,000 purchases for revenues of tens of billions of đồng.
The organising committee along with local authorities and industrial parks will give 300 gift hampers to workers and women in difficult circumstances in the city during the duration of the programme.
