The theme park, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, the municipal Department of Tourism, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on Sunday awarded prizes for fruit models in a fruit arranging competition as part of the festival.

A contestant from Dong Nai Province, a neighbor of Ho Chi Minh City, won the first prize.

Over the past 27 years, the competition has helped preserve and promote southern people’s traditional art and attract many local and foreign tourists.

Nguyen Ba Anh, a tourist from Binh Duong Province, also a neighbor of Ho Chi Minh City, said the works of art made of fruits were eye-catching pieces of art.

“I can’t believe that artisans could make such impressive works of art from fruits,” Anh said.

Artisans from various localities, such as Ben Tre, Tien Giang, Long An, Dong Nai, and Binh Duong Provinces as well as Ho Chi Minh City participated in the competition in 15 teams.

The Southern Fruit Festival-Suoi Tien Farm Festival 2024 takes place between June 1 and August 31.
