3 BYD EVs to make debut in Vietnam in June

China's BYD, the world’s largest electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, will access the Vietnamese market with three electric models in June, including the Atto 3, Dolphin, and Seal.

A spokesperson from the southern dealership of BYD announced that the company has started allowing down payments for the three models.

The Atto 3 requires a deposit of VND30 million (US$1,179), while the Seal and Dolphin necessitate deposits of VND50 million ($1,965) and VND20 million ($785.8), respectively.

These EVs are expected to be available in Vietnam in June.

A BYD representative confirmed in late April that the auto manufacturer would bring the three models, imported from China, to the Vietnamese market.

The prices of the three models remain unknown.

The BYD Atto 3 might be the most anticipated EV model in Vietnam. It features a length of 4,455 mm, a width of 1,875 mm, and a height of 1,615 mm.

The Atto 3 is currently the best-seller in Thailand’s auto market.

Though the appearance of the Atto 3 is not sophisticated, its interior stands out with a three-spoke steering wheel, an automatic climate control system, and a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen.

The model also boasts an advanced driver-assistance system.

In China, the Standard Range version of the Atto 3 using a 49.92 kWh battery can travel 410 kilometers, while the Extended Range version with a 60.48 kWh battery can run 480 kilometers.

The electric version of the BYD Seal will be introduced in Vietnam instead of its hybrid version, according to the southern dealership.

The Seal, a mid-size fastback sedan, is equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel, a rotatable 15.6-inch screen, sporty seats, and a sunroof.

Like the Atto 3, the Seal features an advanced driver-assistance system.

The car has a range of up to 700 kilometers on a single charge.

Meanwhile, the BYD Dolphin, a battery electric hatchback, boasts a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen.

Its premium version can travel 490 kilometers on a single charge.
