Ford Everest Platinum might debut in Vietnam

The luxury Ford Everest Platinum, powered by the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine, is expected to enter Vietnam to replace the Wildtrak model.

The Ford Everest is a mid-size SUV, produced by Ford Motor Company, an American multinational auto manufacturer.

Some local car sales consultants divulged that Ford Vietnam was planning to introduce the new Everest Platinum model to Vietnamese customers in early March.

Deliveries to buyers could begin as early as May.

Though the U.S. firm has yet to confirm this news, local dealerships have started to reveal the expected debut to their clients.

The Everest Platinum model, equipped with a powerful 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine, is expected to carry a high price tag upon its sale in Vietnam, potentially dissuading customers from making a purchase.

Meanwhile, Wildtrak cars started being offered to Vietnamese customers in March last year at a price of VND1.499 billion (US$61,300) each.

Earlier on January 11, Ford Thailand announced that it would debut the Everest Platinum model in March to mark the second anniversary of the third-generation Everest in Thailand.

If Ford Everest Platinum cars are sold in Vietnam, they will be imported from Thailand.

With its outstanding engine, the Ford Everest Platinum can produce 250 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque.

The model features a 10-speed automatic gearbox and a four-wheel drive system.

Only Ford Everest cars with a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine or a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine are available in Vietnam.

As such, detailed information about the Ford Everest Platinum is limited in the Southeast Asian nation.

Everest Platinum cars, which are being sold in Australia, feature 21-inch machine-faced alloys, a unique grille design, chrome-plated door handles, and a 12-inch center LCD touchscreen.

The interior is equipped with heated and ventilated leather-accented seats for both the driver and passenger, featuring a 10-way power adjustment for the driver along with a memory function.
