Some 50 enterprises from nearly 20 provinces and cities across the country, including Lao Cai, Cao Bang, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh, display their specialities in more than 100 booths, showcasing local products such as Thai Nguyen tea, Dien Bien rice, Muong Khuong chili sauce and Ha Giang oranges.
Speaking at the opening ceremony today [28/1], Bui Duy Quang, deputy director of the Hanoi Promotion Agency, said the fair was an opportunity for exhibitors to promote their brands and products to consumers in the city.
"It is also an opportunity for Soc Son District to showcase the agricultural potential, OCOP products, tourism offers and traditional culture of the locality, with the aim of integrating commercial activities with tourism," he said.
Do Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Soc Son People's Committee, said the district is home to diverse agricultural crops and high-quality medicinal plants.
He added that Soc Son has developed concentrated specialized production areas for crops such as jasmine flowers, yellow flower sticky rice, yellow flower tea, mulberry and climbing spinach, as well as dozens of high-tech livestock farms that meet VietGap standards. The district has more than 100 three- and four-star OCOP products, which have been showcased at various fairs.
"The fair provides an opportunity for local consumers in the district and surrounding areas to exchange, visit and purchase OCOP products with clear quality and origin," Tuan pointed out.
"The fair, together with tourism promotion activities at flower markets and Tet markets in Soc Son district, will bring unforgettable experiences and impressions to tourists."
On 26 January, the Hanoi Promotion Agency, in coordination with the Quoc Oai District People's Committee, held a trade promotion fair related to tourism and local culture.
The fair attracted nearly 90 enterprises from 15 provinces and cities as well as traditional handicraft villages in Quoc Oai District to showcase specialities, agricultural products, processed food and consumer goods in over 100 booths.
