Retailers ready to enjoy booming sales for year’s end
Year-end promotions are providing an opportunity for localities and businesses nationwide to get their products on show and penetrate effective supply and consumption chains in the market.
Hanoi Promotion Month 2023, the biggest promotional event in the capital, kicked off on October 27 with thousands of attractive shopping prospects. The annual event is organised by Hanoi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre (HPA) in collaboration with the participation of retailers and producers.
Participants include businesses and production units covering shopping centres, general supermarkets, electronics and department stores, restaurants and hotels, banks, telecoms businesses, construction and shipping enterprises, and more.
“The annual event provides a good opportunity for local businesses to increase sales and actively participate in the capital’s supply-consumption ecosystem. The organising committee will integrate registered businesses’ websites into the portal to make online shopping more convenient,” said HPA director Nguyen Anh Duong.
This year, the event also included the launch of the Hanoi Shopping Festival, which took place on October 27-29. It boasted 70 sales booths offering discounts of up to 50 per cent on thousands of consumer goods.
The most anticipated event of Hanoi Promotion Month is scheduled to take place on November 11-12 with the participation of 50 “golden” supermarkets and shopping centres.
Nguyen Quy Tan, general director of Mediamart My Dinh, said, “In organising promotional programmes, we have been negotiating with suppliers since the beginning of the fourth quarter to reduce the prices of many household products such as television, fridges, air conditioning units, and washing machines.”
On from November 11-12, Mediamart will offer discounts of up to 70 per cent on many goods, especially household products, Tan added.
Representatives of other large supermarket systems such as BRG, Big C, WinMart, and Saigon Co.opmart have also worked closely with whole-sale suppliers to prepare stable goods sources and ensure quality for products during the special promotion month.
Meanwhile, the Hanoi Online Festival for 2023 will be held on the thangkhuyenmaihanoi.vn portal and various e-commerce websites of enterprises on November 24-30.
Hanoi Promotion Month is just one of the big-sale programmes at the end of the year that help retailers boost numbers.
For example, the Vietnam Grand Sale 2023, hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), will take place across the country from December 4 to the end of the year. The event will be held in both online and offline formats to facilitate and draw in the participation of businesses and producers from different economic sectors.
Participants are all merchants as prescribed by law, and the maximum limit for the value of goods and services used for promotion and the maximum discount for promoted goods and services is 100 per cent.
To stimulate consumer demand, the industry and trade departments in varying localities are instructing merchants to participate during the period, creating new advantages for traders to carry out administrative procedures and promotional activities.
In addition, the departments will provide information on promotional programmes throughout the province, coordinate with the Market Management Department and relevant units to receive information from consumers reporting activities that violate the law.
The MoIT also said that from now until the end of the year, the ministry will direct the people’s committees of cities and the departments of industry and trade to promote the consumption stimulus initiative associated with stabilising the market of goods for Lunar New Year in 2024.
In addition, the ministry will also organise cultural and tourism events to both attract tourism and increase purchasing power.
