Hanoi businesses recruit large workforce to meet production demands

At this time, many businesses in Hanoi are recruiting a large number of workers to serve their production and business activities.

Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Employment Service, told The Hanoi Times about the capital city's high demand for workers, including trade and services, processing and manufacturing industries, and the construction sector.

During the recent period, we proactively organized daily job fairs, facilitating connections between employers and job seekers through both direct and online interviews.

Furthermore, the center has collaborated closely with districts and suburban areas in Hanoi to assess the labor market situation, business needs, and the employment requirements of job seekers. We have also conducted specialized job fairs targeting specific groups such as demobilized soldiers, returning migrant workers, and vulnerable individuals at the local level.

Additionally, the center has worked to connect two groups of individuals who have completed their prison sentences and those who have undergone drug rehabilitation with job opportunities through job fairs.

As a result, from the beginning of 2023 until September 15, the Center has successfully organized 191 on-site and mobile job fairs, leading to the employment of 13,447 workers.

In the first nine months of 2023, Hanoi created job opportunities for 171,288 workers, surpassing 105.7% of the year's planned target.

Which industries will enterprises recruit many workers in the last three months of 2023?

From now until the end of the year, companies are anticipated to experience a significant demand for recruiting workers to support their production and business operations across various fields and industries.

Notably, the trade and service sector continues to exhibit a robust trend of recruiting a substantial number of workers. Furthermore, there is expected to be an uptick in labor recruitment in the processing and manufacturing industries, the construction sector, and the finance and banking sectors in the upcoming period.

The information technology sector, which has witnessed a notable surge in recruitment recently, is projected to maintain a persistent and strong demand for a skilled workforce in the near future.

In addition to collaborating with districts and suburban areas to organize mobile job fairs, will the Hanoi Center for Employment Service also collaborate with universities and colleges to conduct such the activities for students?

For many years, the Hanoi Center for Employment Service has directly collaborated with universities and colleges in the city to organize job fair activities. We regularly provide labor market information and recruitment needs from companies to universities and colleges in the city.

In 2023, we have placed significant emphasis on conducting more job-related activities within educational institutions, with a particular focus on providing students with essential skills such as job searching, interviewing, resume preparation, teamwork, and independent work.

These initiatives aim to prepare and boost the confidence of young workers and students for job interviews, equipping them to access employment opportunities seamlessly after graduation.

Looking ahead from now until the end of the year, the Center will maintain its collaboration with universities and colleges to assess the specific employment needs of students and the hiring requirements of companies, especially in the part-time labor market segment.

Furthermore, the Center will continue organizing on-site job matching activities at educational institutions, fostering connections between employers and job seekers to facilitate recruitment and job creation opportunities.

Thank you for your time!
