New investment said to bring $425 million, 23K jobs to Cambodia

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has announced that 13 new companies have been granted investment certification for Phnom Penh and the provinces of Kampong Speu, Kandal, Kampong Cham, Pursat and Kampong Chhnang. The 13 will invest a total of $425.9 million and create around 23,250 jobs for Cambodians.

 

An August 25 social media announcement by the CDC said the 13 companies had all applied to the CDC's Cambodian Investment Board, with investment capitals ranging from $5.2 million to $258 million.

Conch KT Cement (Phnom Penh) Co Ltd plans to build a cement factory worth around $258 million in Horng Samnam commune’s Monorom village of Kampong Speu province’s Oral district, and is expected to create 468 jobs.

Khou Tower Co Ltd intends to build a 237-room five-star hotel, with an investment of around $84.5 million, in Srah Chak commune of the capital’s Daun Penh district. The hotel expects to employ 855 people.

Right Union International Co Ltd plans to establish a footwear factory in Kampong Cham province. With an investment of around $20.5 million, it expects to create 4,870 jobs.

Nengli Hardware Plastic Products Co Ltd are planning to establish a factory that will manufacture steel and plastic homeware in Taing Krouch commune of Kampong Speu province’s Samrong Tong district. The $10.7 million factory is expected to create work for around 4,870 people.

Polestar (Cambodia) Garment Co Ltd intends to establish a garment factory, with an investment capital of approximately $8 million. Nearly 2,600 jobs will be created at the factory, which will be located along National Road 5 in Snam Preah commune’s Snam Preah village of Pursat province’s Bakan district.

Evergreat (Cambodia) Shoes Co Ltd will establish a footwear factory, with an investment of around $6.1 million. It plans to hire around 1,260 people, and is located in Prey Puoch commune’s Chamkar Sleng village of Kandal province’s Ang Snuol district.

Artiverse (Cambodia) Co Ltd plans to establish a garment factory with an investment capital of around $5.8 million that may create 2, 086 jobs in Srang commune’s Srang village of Kampong Speu province’s Kong Pisei district.

Al Jazeelan Food Pte Ltd intends to establish a food processing factory, with an investment capital of approximately $5.6 million that should create 125 jobs in Krang Thnong commune’s Samrong Teav village of Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok district.

Jun Bo Sheng Shoe Material Co Ltd plans to establish a footwear accessories factory with an investment capital of approximately $5.6 million that will create 368 jobs in Bek Chan commune’s Andong village of Kandal province’s Ang Snuol district.

Smart Packaging (Cambodia) Co Ltd plans to establish a cardboard factory. With an investment capital of approximately $5.4 million, it should create 310 jobs in Kraing Mkak commune’s Prey Khla village of Kandal province’s Ang Snuol district.

KH Best Faith Manufacturing (Cambodia) Co Ltd plans to establish a factory to make bags and sport accessories, with an investment capital of approximately $5.3 million that ought to create 1,931 jobs in Chong Rok commune’s Sandol village of Kampong Speu province’s Kong Pisei district.

Kunbo Style Apparel Co Ltd intends to establish a garment factory in Dangkor commune’s Moul village of Phnom Penh’s Dangkor district. With an investment of approximately $5.2 million, the factory is expected to create 2,041 jobs.

Menature Ootdoor (Cambodia) Co Ltd plans to open a bag and travel goods factory along National Road 5 in Spean Sethei commune’s Po village of Kampong Chhnang province’s Samaki Meanchey district. Approximately $5.2 million of capital will be invested, and 1,481 people will be employed.
