The awardees will be chosen by an independent panel of judges comprising experts in various fields.

The awards will be given in the Developer, Development and Design categories besides Special Recognitions and other special categories following a rigorous process supervised by HLB, the global network of independent advisory and accounting firms.

Entries will be accepted from now until September 1 and a gala dinner and awards presentation ceremony will be held on November 10 in HCM City.

The main winners will qualify to compete for the ‘Best in Asia’ honours at the 18th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok, Thailand, on December 8.

Viet Nam won four trophies at the 2022 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final: Keppel Land for Best Mixed Use Developer, Sycamore by CapitaLand Development for the Best Housing/Landed Development and Best Eco Friendly Housing/Landed Development awards, and Artisan Park by Gamuda Land for Best Retail Development.

Thien Duong, chairperson of the PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards and general director of Group GSA (Vietnam), said: “The growing quality of entries to our awards in Viet Nam over the years reflects the industrialisation and rapid urbanisation of the country.

“In this, the ninth edition of the awards, we are confident that our newest competitors will work together to build legacies that will shape the skylines and communities of Viet Nam.”

Jules Kay, general manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, said: “Viet Nam remains one of Asia’s leading property markets, as shown by the variety of awards that the judges give to developers, design practices, and developments every year.

“Viet Nam is certainly one of the fastest growing economies in the region with a flourishing real estate market that still has room for growth.

“We are sure that this year’s entries will reinforce developers’ commitment to quality and prove that Viet Nam real estate is still among Southeast Asia’s best.”

Organised by PropertyGuru, Asia’s leading property technology company, the awards are presented by Kohler and supported by Vasta Stone, Dulux Professional, Batdongsan.com.vn, local partner Oriental Media Vietnam and the official media partners Construction newspaper, the official newspaper of the Ministry of Construction and Viet Nam News, a publication of the Vietnam News Agency.

According to Batdongsan.com.vn's Consumer Sentiment Survey (CSS) in early 2023, released at the press briefing to launch the awards, the reputation of the developer, construction credentials, space design, and sales policy are the top elements consumers take into account when seeking property.

Green space is a key trend in the desire for home ownership at present and in future.

The report also found 68 per cent of survey respondents saying they plan to buy property in the next year.

Newly developed properties in the price range of VND2.5-5 billion (around US$107,000 - 213,000) attracts a great deal of attention.

Dinh Minh Tuan, branch director of Batdongsan.com.vn for the southern region, said the market is experiencing some challenges, and the reversal signal would come in Q4 2023 or in Q2 2024, depending on certain conditions.

"The recovery of the market is expected to be faster if Government policies issued to support the real estate market penetrate more quickly and have a positive impact on market stakeholders."
