Hanoi promotes sales of Binh Duong produce

The two sides will partner in a cooperation program focusing on information exchange and implementing production chain models.

The southern province of Binh Duong wants to cooperate with Hanoi's firms to sell some of its typical OCOP (One Commune One Product) goods.

Do Ngoc Huy, Chairman of the Binh Duong Farmers' Association, made the proposal at a meeting with the Hanoi Farmers' Association in Hanoi on April 12.

He said that as Hanoi is a big market for high-quality agricultural products, Binh Duong farmers, with the support of the capital's enterprises, hope to sell some typical products certified under the OCOP program, including melons from Phu Giao District, green-skinned pomelo and bird's nest from Dau Tieng District, reishi mushrooms, and others.

Farmers in Binh Duong are currently focusing on large-scale and high-tech models for growing specialty fruit trees and livestock. The province has a Millionaire Farmers Association made up of respectable farmers, businesses, and cooperative leaders.

Representatives of the two farmers' associations shared their experiences in managing and raising funds to support farmers and jointly selling regionally distinctive agricultural products.

The two sides agreed on a cooperation program, including information exchange and experience sharing in implementing chain production models, collective and farm economy, and building new rural areas.

At the conference, wealthy households, traditional agricultural enterprises, and high-productivity households in Binh Duong Province presented their first-rate products and expressed their desire to cooperate with Hanoi's distribution enterprises.

Representatives of Hanoi units and enterprises also discussed the conditions and standards of agricultural products marketed in the capital's distribution network.

Hanoi has 28 shopping malls, 132 supermarkets, 453 traditional markets, 2,000 convenience stores, and tens of thousands of grocery stores. The city has 128 agro-food and product sales chains, 159 chains linking production and consumption of agro-forestry products, 926 chains and suppliers of agro-forestry-fishery products in 43 provinces and cities, and 60 showrooms selling products under the OCOP program. It also has 35 omnichannel businesses, including e-commerce platforms, supermarkets, distribution systems, and websites.
