Horticultural, floricultural tech expo opens in HCM City

The fifth International Exhibition and Conference for Horticultural and Floricultural Production and Processing Technology opened in HCM City on March 1, showcasing fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables and technologies used in their production and processing.

 

HortEx Vietnam 2023 has attracted 200 companies from 25 countries and territories, including Belgium, China, Germany, Greece, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the US, and UK.

The exhibition also features many activities such as seminars, the third fruit and vegetable export forum, Grower Talks, business matching, international flower and Viet Nam fruit showcase

The Netherlands is the partner country with 33 of its enterprises taking part.

Kees van Baar, the Dutch ambassador to Viet Nam, said companies from his country are showcasing the best agricultural technologies, innovations and expertise.

"The Netherlands has a long history of agricultural excellence, and we are proud to bring this expertise to Viet Nam.”

Le Van Duc, deputy director general of the Department of Crop Production, said: “After a hiatus due to COVID-19, HortEx Vietnam will be a meeting point for Vietnamese and international businesses, an opportunity for businesses and industry experts to share technologies and technological advances and explore markets to turn Viet Nam into a reputed vegetable, flower and fruit exporter.”

Organised by Minh Vi Exhibition and Advertisement Services Co., Ltd, Nova Exhibitions BV (Netherlands) and the China Great Wall International Exhibition Co., Ltd (China), the exhibition at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre will go on until March 3 and expects to receive more than 8,000 trade visitors.
