FPT and Stavian Group partner to digitise refinery and petrochemical industries

This is a significant step in the digitalisation of one of Vietnam's largest refining and petrochemical groups.

On January 9, Stavian Group and FPT Corporation inked a comprehensive collaboration agreement on the application of digital solutions to enhance the group's efficiency and competitiveness in the global economic market.

After a year of implementation, Stavian has launched the SAP ERP project, signifying a significant change for the organisation in the Industry 4.0 era.

FPT will assist Stavian in the development and implementation of technology in several business areas, including supply management, distribution, business process automation, and digitalisation alternatives. The companies will also work together on domestic and global transmission services, Internet connectivity, and innovative 4.0 technology solutions including AI, chatbots, RPA, data analytics, and blockchain.

Dinh Duc Thang, chairman and general director of Stavian Group stated, "The SAP ERP system will serve as the cornerstone for Stavian over the next few years. Digital transformation will not only boost the competitiveness of the Vietnamese economy on the international market but also generate profit."

"We believe that FPT will assist Stavian in accelerating its digital transformation process, standardising the whole company's protocol, centralising data, and integrating business divisions into a strong corporate governance model. This relationship with FPT is a significant milestone on our path to becoming one of the top digital industry companies in Vietnam and the surrounding area," he continued.

Nguyen Van Khoa, general director of FPT noted, "The cooperation between FPT and Stavian is a major accomplishment in accelerating the digitalisation of one of the leading enterprises in Vietnam's refining and petrochemical industries. With SAP ERP and FPT's digital transformation solutions, Stavian is able to streamline its operations, decrease expenses, and save resources, consequently driving its development. We intend to continue assisting Stavian and other Vietnamese manufacturing companies by providing them with the most effective digital solutions."

Stavian is best known for its exceptional track record in the supply chain and manufacturing sectors of the petrochemicals industry. However, the firm is rapidly expanding its operations globally, fixating on a broad range of industries including petrochemicals, chemicals, pulp and paper, high-tech new materials, recycling, the circular economy, industrial parks, logistics, and venture capital.

The group had to deal with the issue of dispersed information systems which resulted in limited resources and unreliable data availability for workers in order to manage its ecosystem in the ever-changing and complex global commerce environment. Therefore, digital transformation has become one of the group's primary growth-oriented goals.

Stavian Group has implemented the SAP S/4HANA corporate governance system in response to Decision No.749/QD-TTg on the national digital transformation plan to 2025 with an alignment to 2030. SAP S/4HANA is among the most innovative resource planning applications for business management.

This is the digital solution that FPT and Stavian have deployed together, encompassing the four fundamental pillars of enterprises in the 4.0 era – the information system, the ecosystem, the customer experience, and the Internet of Things. This will be essential for Stavian to simplify its operations, improve its corporate governance, raise its competitiveness, and grow its operations abroad. The go-live event for Stavian's SAP ERP implementation represented a significant step in the group's digital transformation strategy.
