WTO names Vietnam among 30 largest commodity export-import economies

Vietnam has been listed among the group of 30 countries and territories with the largest export-import value on a global scale, according to the rankings compiled by the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The Vietnamese export value of goods last year was 23rd in the world, and the import value ranked 20th globally.

As of mid-December, the nation’s total import-export value reached US$700 billion.

Vietnam’s trade ranking has been improved constantly over the years and the country is the only state member of ASEAN to have achieved such a performance.

This ensured Vietnam a continuous presence in the group of countries and territories boasting the largest import and export value.

Since 2019, the country has been placed second in ASEAN, surpassing both Thailand and Malaysia, and standing behind Singapore.
