Piaggio Vietnam affirms important position as it celebrates 15th anniversary

Piaggio set up its direct presence in Vietnam 15 years ago and built two plants, vehicle and engine, and a Research and Development center in Vinh Phuc province. At that time, Piaggio decided that Vietnam would be a hub for all Asian markets becoming a trend setter company from a business model point of view.

Piaggio as the European Leading Manufacturer throughout these fifteen years has successfully pioneered the Vietnamese market in many ways: opening the Premium market, being the first to launch the ABS, and launching the most advanced solutions from a safety and eco-friendly point of view. It has educated the Vietnamese market in a more sophisticated way of riding.

They are proud to create job opportunities, develop talents, and last but not least to fulfill financial responsibilities and thus contribute to Vietnam’s growth. They have been supporting the local authorities in all regulatory matters, local practices and more importantly, in their socially responsible initiatives.

In the last few years, their product line up has been strengthened in the most expressive and colorful way, triggering emotion responses and making their customer salivate enthusiastically. Yet, the Piaggio Group is more than just a vehicle manufacturer. More importantly, they are in the industry of emotion, where they engineer emotions on two wheels through finest Italian design and craftmanship.

One of their key strategies is to inspire people to always achieve their best. Eleven representatives from Operations – are working passionately every day to turn metal pieces, screws, wires, and plastics into precious jewels. Their dedications, devotions, and commitments are undoubtfully the major contributors in Piaggio Vietnam’s achievements to date, notably during the two challenging years of Covid-19. These Heroes in blue, along with many more of the organization’s young, talented and passionate members, are the living witnesses of their strategy where people are put at the center of their trajectory and day-to-day initiatives.

Piaggio Vietnam has grown three times since its transformation in 2017 and its turnover has been breaking record year on year, and contributing significantly to the global profitability of the Piaggio Group. Its Vietnam plant has grown to be the Group’s largest production site. With rising purchasing power fueling demand for premium scooters in the region and other global markets, its factory has reached its production capacity, and its facilities have turned saturated. This has resulted in an immediate call to invest generously for expanding its Vinh Phuc operation in the coming years.

A very important part of Piaggio upcoming investments will be directed toward people – both its people and the people of Vietnam. The growth of its employees will be a key achievement during a transition into a customer-centric modality, with a constant reminder that People is the fifth iconic brand, and Emotion is its new Bill of Materials. People will be the ones who propel Piaggio and Vietnam forward.
