The expo will also feature seminars, a business forum, a welding competition, business matching, and technology and product introduction.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Quang Huy, deputy head of the Agency for Southern Affairs - Ministry of Industry and Trade, said the expo is an important event to restore trade activities post-COVID and a good opportunity for investors, manufacturers and entrepreneurs in Viet Nam and abroad to introduce new products and technologies.

Nguyen Thi Kim Ngoc, deputy director of the city Department of Industry and Trade, said industrial production has gradually recovered after the pandemic.

The index of industrial production grew at estimated 17.4 per cent year-on-year in the first ten months of the year, with four key industrial sectors growing at 23 per cent, she said.

”VINAMAC EXPO is a practical event, aiming at introducing and promoting products, technologies and machinery and equipment … and enhancing opportunities for co-operation and partnership between local and foreign companies.”

Organised by the Viet Nam Advertisement and Fair Exhibition JSC, the Department of Industry and Trade, the HCM City Association of Mechanical-Electrical Enterprises, HCM City Automation Association and others, the exhibition will go on until November 5.
