Copper refining plant improves lives

The copper refining branch of the VINACOMIN-Minerals Holding Corporation (VIMICO) in Lao Cai Province has been striving to improve both the material and spiritual lives of its employees.

The branch has been seriously and efficiently realizing the resolutions adopted by its workers and party committee on occupational safety and hygiene, building and developing cafeterias, dormitories and healthcare for employees. The branch’s cafeterias are capable of serving 1,100 people on three shifts daily.

The branch has one three-story and two four-story dormitories divided into 104 36-square-meter rooms with electricity, clean water, audio-visual systems as well as a football field, volleyball court, sports area, ping-pong room, among others, for employees. Dormitories, parking and transportation to work are all free.

In the first nine months of 2022, the branch paid its employees an average of VND13.5 million/person/month. The branch’s trade union has taken good care of employees and their family members. The branch provides buses transporting workers from Lao Cai to Tang Loong and Bat Xat and carries out semi-annual health checks for its workers, paying special allowances to those working in a toxic environment.

VIMICO’s copper refining branch in the northern province of Lao Cai will further strive to improve the lives and livelihoods of its employees.
