Indochina Kajima holds ground-breaking ceremony for Wink Hotel Can Tho Centre

Indochina Kajima Development Limited, a joint venture between Indochina Capital, a leading real estate developer in Vietnam, and Kajima Corporation, one of Japan’s largest general contractors and overseas real estate developers, held a ground-breaking ceremony for its latest venture, the Wink Hotel Can Tho Centre, on September 16.

Situated in a prime location in Can Tho’s central business district, the Wink Hotel Can Tho Centre will appeal to young-at-heart business and leisure travellers. It has excellent access to local government offices and Ninh Khieu Wharf and Park, home to Can Tho’s key restaurants, retail, and entertainment attractions.

Designed by the French architectural firm AW2, the Wink Hotel Can Tho Centre comprises 214 Wink hotel rooms and 24 Wink suites (serviced apartments) within a stunningly designed 19-storey tower of approximately.

Following the sustainable, modern design of the Wink Hotels brand, the centre will include an interactive lobby, a Wink Space, Wink Bar, Grab & Go area, Chat outdoor garden, co-working space, gym, laundromat, swimming pool and rooftop bar. Accommodation is located from levels 3 to 18, with a total of 238 hotel rooms and serviced apartments.

“When travelling to Can Tho, tourists and business travellers will enjoy the natural beauty of the Mekong Delta, in addition to the culture, customs and cuisines of the city's vibrant and dynamic central business district," said Peter Ryder, chairman of Wink Hotels and CEO of Indochina Capital, during the ceremony. "We have carefully selected each Wink Hotel site in locations with historical significance and access to modern amenities, respecting Vietnam’s heritage while embracing its rapidly evolving social and economic identity. The Wink Hotel Can Tho embodies these ideals, and through the design of the hotel and all its available activities, we plan to promote the best of Can Tho to international and domestic guests."

Wink Hotels is a new Vietnamese hospitality brand emerging in Indochina that takes a bold approach to affordable luxury. The brand caters to modern, aspirational travellers, offering high-quality experiences grounded in local destinations.

Keisuke Koshijima, executive vice president of Kajima Corporation said, “Can Tho has many favourable conditions for tourism development. It is the heart of the Mekong Delta, a key tourist attraction for local and international travellers given its vast river networks and cultural and historical significance. It is also the economic centre of the delta, which has a population of over 20 million people and is a focus of Vietnam’s growth plans."

"However, the city still lacks modern and high-quality accommodation to meet the growing demands of business travellers and tourists. When completed, the Wink Hotel Can Tho Centre will set a new benchmark for hospitality and tourism in the city, taking advantage of the need for an international standard hotel," Koshijima said.

With its long-term vision and unwavering commitment to investing in Vietnam’s hospitality market, Indochina Kajima has announced a pipeline of 20 hotels to open within the next five to seven years.

The Wink Hotel Saigon Centre opened in 2021, and two Wink Hotels in Danang will complete construction and start operation in the fourth quarter of 2022 and the second quarter of 2023, respectively.

In tandem, construction of the Wink Hotel Tuy Hoa and Wink Hotel Haiphong is progressing, targeting to commence operations in the first quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, respectively.

After the Wink Hotel Can Tho Centre officially breaks ground, Hanoi, Binh Duong and Vung Tau will be the next destinations for Wink developments, followed by second properties in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
