SaigonTex & SaigonFabric 2022 exhibition opens in HCMC

SaigonTex & SaigonFabric exhibition, the leading international show of Vietnam’s textile and garment industry, has opened in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), from July 27-30, 2022.

This is the first international event of textile and garment industry since 2019.

SaigonTex & SaigonFabric 2022 exhibition is the only textile & garment industry, fabric and accessories exhibition in Vietnam that meets the UFI standard (Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) over the years. This is also a convenient opportunity for businesses in many fields of production and business in the country and aboard meeting and finding partners, promoting brands, and expanding market.

The exhibition has been supported by Vietnamese and international concerned authorities & associations, including Ministry of Industry & Trade of Vietnam (MOIT), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Vietnam Textile & Apparel Association (VITAS), Vietnam National Textile & Garment Group (VINATEX), the Association of Garments, Textiles, Embroidery and Knitting (AGTEK). The SaigonTex & SaigonFabric 2022 exhibition is jointly organized by VINATEX, VCCI (HCMC branch), CP Exhibition Ltd. (Hongkong), CP Vietnam Exhibition Organizing Co., Ltd.

The scale of the exhibition area is nearly 10,000 m2. The event attracts more than 278 exhibitors from 17 countries/regions around the world such as China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, UK, USA, Vietnam. This is a good opportunity for them to participate and introduce their advanced equipment and materials for the textile & garment market in Vietnam.

Vo Tan Thanh, Vice President of VCCI, said: “Vietnam's textile and garment exports in 2021 reached USD39 billion turnover, up 11.2% compared to 2020 and up 0.3% compared to 2019. Vietnam's textile and garment export market share has surpassed Bangladesh, rose to the second position in the world and was rated highest position in the recovery opportunity in 2022 by many international organizations. Textile and garment exports in the first 6 months of 2022 are estimated at about USD22 billion USD, up 23% year-on-year. This is an impressive figure for the textile and garment industry in the context of having gone through a difficult period due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Although there are still many challenges ahead, we believe that the textile and garment industry will continue to develop to achieve the export target of over USD40 billion in 2022.”
