Odom launch showcases 'new landmark for Phnom Penh'

The Odom Showroom Launch was held to great fanfare on July 6 as Urban Living Solutions (ULS) – the real-estate and lifestyle development firm behind Cambodia’s most creative spaces – officially unveiled “a new landmark for Phnom Penh”.

In a glittering event at the capital’s famous Odom Garden on Norodom Boulevard near the iconic Independence Monument, ULS launched the showroom and sales gallery of Odom – its most ambitious project to date.

“Odom came about by observing the hundreds of businesses in need of office space that includes design, function and amenities to keep staff excited.

“We want to offer the new generation of entrepreneurs the opportunity to create and own offices tailored to their companies’ needs.

“We also wanted to build centrally located homes for business executives who want to avoid long commutes to and from work,” said Kim Leang Kean, founder and managing director of ULS.

Centrally located on Norodom Boulevard, the mixed-use high-rise development features two towers connected by a five-floor “podium”, with combined residential, commercial and office space designed by Singapore-based Kite Studio Architecture.

Daniel Chavez, project development director at ULS, Ty Chea, the company’s sales manager, and Khairudin Saharom, director at Kite Studio Architecture were the panelists at a media Q&A session held after the main event.

Saharom spoke of how the design of Odom is based on three fundamental principles – context, compact urbanism and physical sustainability.

“Regarding context, we extracted the rich history, culture and heritage of Cambodia, conceptualizing the temples and lush greenery surrounding them, and began to rethink how future buildings in Phnom Penh should be.

“Compact urbanism is very important because the way we work, live and play is changing rapidly. With the boundaries blurring, we sought to merge these three elements together into one compact microcosm.

“And when we talk about sustainability, we go beyond that, with what we call regenerative design, where the building lives and breathes together with the people,” Saharom said.

Following the success of award-winning projects such as Factory Phnom Penh, Bakong Village and Rose Apple Square, ULS sets to redefine work-life standards for modern Cambodians.

Situated on 5,825sqm of prime real estate on Norodom Boulevard and standing 45 stories high, Odom Tower will offer more than 43,000sqm of Grade A strata-title offices and be the new business hub for local SMEs and international businesses.

Additional features include AI-powered lifts, LEED pre-certified gold status, environmentally smart designs, six “Sky Villages” and a private, members-only rooftop club.

Adjacent to Odom Tower, occupying more than 19,000sqm over 22 floors, will stand the residential building of Odom Living.

Designed for contemporary families and professionals, Odom Living will offer spacious one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments ranging from 78sqm to 262sqm.

Each condo will boast city views across the Phnom Penh skyline, double balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows, natural daylight, design-focused bathrooms by Kohler and fully equipped kitchens featuring Maison De Dietrich appliances.

A range of modern amenities include smart lock technology from Samsung, 24-hour security, a rooftop terrace, gym, pool, outdoor green spaces, and a sky bridge connecting Odom Living to Odom Tower, 60m above ground.

Uniting the two towers will be Odom Square, a five-story landscaped garden and commercial space combining a curated selection of retailers, lifestyle, food and beverage offerings, as well as a green-filled community area.

Over 9,000sqm of retail and public space will allow residents of both buildings to easily access the Square, with seamless architecture bringing the outside in and the inside out, creating a unique, lifestyle destination in which to dine, shop and relax.

ULS is a locally owned real-estate and lifestyle development firm concentrating on community- focused solutions to meet Cambodia’s rapid urbanisation.

Based in Phnom Penh, ULS builds livable urban spaces that connect, inspire and nurture communities to benefit the people living and working in Cambodia.
