30 Japanese enterprises look for investment opportunities in Thanh Hoa

30 Japanese enterprises look for investment opportunities in the central province of Thanh Hoa in manufacturing, resort real estate, and other sectors.

On March 3 and 4, a delegation of Japanese enterprises, representatives of the Japan External Trade Organization, and the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam visited the Nghi Son Economic Zone and other industrial parks in Quang Xuong and Tho Xuan to implement fieldwork.

They visited the Nghi Son 2 thermal power plant, Anh Phat Industrial Park, and logistics warehouses, as well as the Sun Beauty Onsen resort complex.

Representatives of enterprises stated that Thanh Hoa would be suitable for their projects thanks to its convenient position for transport, technical infrastructure, and numerous incentive policies.

Standing vice chairman of Thanh Hoa People's Committee Nguyen Van Thi said that Japan is the leading partner of Thanh Hoa in terms of investment and trade.

“The two parties regularly organise business trips for high-level delegations to carry out investment promotion activities and events to promote the cooperation in trade and tourism. At present, the province and Oyabe city are considering signing a friendship agreement,” Thi said.

Yamamoto Kohei, second secretary of the Economic Department of Japan's Embassy said, “Thanks to the close bilateral cooperation, as well as the two parties’ efforts in organising investment promotions, more and more Japanese businesses pay attention to the province.”

In the framework of the trip, the representatives of Thanh Hoa People’s Committee and Nghi Son Biomass Fuel Co., Ltd. signed an agreement to develop a wood pellet factory with an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes and a high-tech wood factory with an annual capacity of 5,000 tonnes.

Besides this, Japan Desk Thanh Hoa, which is managed by Thanh Hoa's Investment Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency, and BIDV signed a cooperation agreement to attract investment from Japan to the province.
