Minh Cuong mct JSC A steel structure and construction pioneer that builds in trust

As a pioneer in Vietnamese pre-engineered steel building and industrial construction for 25 years, Minh Cuong Mechanics-Construction-Trading JSC is a prestigious high-tech provider of steel structure solutions for both foreign and local partners at home and abroad.

In the last days of 2021, a rare bustling national championship tennis tournament was hosted at the newly-opened Hanaka Paris Ocean Park tennis court complex in the northern province of Bac Ninh. With a total capacity of over 5,000 seats, the seven international-standard courts meet the high requirements for major sporting events such as SEA Games 31 and the ATP 250 tournaments, to be held this year in Vietnam. The complex has been recognised as the largest and most modern tennis court facility in the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records.

In particular, the main courtyard at Hanaka has a capacity of 3,000 seats and an automatic retractable roof. The state-of-the-art roof is made of high-quality stretch canvas and supported by steel trusses underneath, with the design transforming the complex from a simple tennis facility into a national artwork.

According to Duong Minh Cuong, CEO of the company that made the roof – Minh Cuong MCT – said, “It is the automation technology that distinguishes the roof and ensures competition under various conditions. We are pioneering the application of this tech in Vietnam”.

Being a pioneer means there can often be a lack of mutual learning or cooperation, but in order to overcome this, Minh Cuong MCT and its “Build in Trust” motto has strived to conform to investors’ demands while ensuring all the technicalities match international standards.

“Apart from existing equipment for manufacturing, we invest in the development of technical personnel to assure our system’s completion,” he said. “It’s nice to see that the curved bearing steel dome creates excitement for the audience when entering the courtyard.”

Impressive resume

The Hanaka tennis court complex is one of many high-tech projects constructed by Minh Cuong MCT nationwide and abroad.

With 25 years of experience in steel and construction, Minh Cuong MCT has proved its professional and leading position in pre-engineered steel structure, building, and industrial construction to deliver comprehensive solutions for its local and international partners.

Managing five pre-engineered steel structure factories over a total of 93,000 square metres in Hanoi’s Dong Anh district, Minh Cuong is capable of manufacturing up to 4,000 tonnes per month and a total fabrication capacity of 40,000 tonnes per year by deploying synchronous lining automatic equipment.

The company applies an ISO quality management system to provide clients with all-in-one services from consulting, designing, and manufacturing to installing and constructing steel structures.

With a vision to become a leading supplier of pre-engineered steel structures in Vietnam and expand to the international market, the company continuously invests in innovation to adapt to the latest technology, create a professional working environment to attract and keep talent, and promote the independence and creativeness of each employee.

With outstanding quality and a strong reputation, Minh Cuong MCT has developed into a sustainable partner of leading contractors, consultants, and investors across Asia-Pacific, including South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia. The company has successfully launched more than 100 projects with 1,800 constructions in total.

Notably, Minh Cuong MTC is one of the key constructors for two manufacturing infrastructure schemes from South Korean tech giant Samsung. It also participated in building Kishin Vietnam Factory, a partnership project between Japan and South Korea. Other major international projects by the company include Yangmin Vina, Khai Thua Vietnam Plastic Factory, Mapletree Bac Ninh Logistics Park, and Cai Lan Oil Factory.

The company has also constructed facilities for Vietnamese corporations such as Garment 10 JSC’s glass house, warehouse, and factory projects; Cua Ong Coal’s water sludge treatment plant project; and Tuan Chau Hanoi Amusement Park.

Approaching new markets

Minh Cuong MCT is continually innovating and expanding in order to provide the finest product quality, the best working environment, and the most innovative solutions for its customers. All business operations are conducted with the greatest level of responsibility and a strong work spirit. In addition, the company focuses on fostering interaction and communication with its stakeholders, thus strengthening the brand name’s reputation and credibility.

“Our projects are nationwide now, and we create stable jobs for our workers,” Cuong explained. “However, to keep the company growth sustainable, we target to approach even further into other markets such as the United States, Australia, Europe, and South Africa to bring our high quality, Vietnamese-made products to the world.”

According to the Vietcombank Securities Industry Outlook Report, the export of iron and steel has been thriving since the beginning of 2021 despite weak domestic demand in July and August. In Q4/2021, iron and steel product shipments reached 4.1 million in total, increasing 78.2 per cent on-year, with exports to Europe and the US the primary drivers of this expansion.

“Substantial long-term structural changes in society and industry will undoubtedly raise the demand for steel for enhanced performance. Therefore, approaching new markets means facing various new challenges, but we foresee a bright future,” Cuong said.

Over the past 25 years of building and developing, Minh Cuong MCT has received a number of accolades such as the Durr Supplier Award from Germany’s Durr Group in 2019 honouring excellent production quality in the supply of steel construction for a Vinfast project; a Certificate of Appreciation from Singapore’s PEC Group, and the Key Industrial Products of Hanoi award for its pre-engineered steel structure in 2020.
