Businesses ramp up production after Tet
Companies are determined to leave the difficult year of 2021 behind and aim for higher goals in 2022.
After a week-long Tet, many businesses have turned their focus on ramping up production for a speedy recovery in the post-pandemic period.

Standing alongside the production line at full capacity, General Director of Thinh Long Intra Bui Ba Thien told The Hanoi Times of his delight to see things starting to get back to normal.
“Everyone is happy just to come back to work, and also highly aware of the Covid-19,” Thien said.
Thinh Long Intra, which specialized in making medical facemasks, is planning to build a new manufacturing plant in Luong Son District, Hoa Binh Province, to better meet growing needs for such a product in Vietnam and abroad.
“Right before Tet, Thinh Long Intra offered a 13th-month salary bonus and a gift package worth VND900,000 (US$40) for every employee to keep them committed to the company for the long term,” he continued.
In a similar mood, Hanoi CNC Accurate Mechanical Company started the year with 100% of the workforce available. The company director Nguyen Minh Chau expected business results to improve in 2022, especially with new contracts being signed right at the beginning of the year.
“Timely support from the Government and local authorities have built trust among the business community and created the foundation for economic recovery in 2022,” Chau told The Hanoi Times.
Meanwhile, workers of PetroVietnam have been throughout Tet on the construction site of the Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant project, scheduled to complete next year.
“We are gearing up to ensure the completion of the first power station on February 23,” PetroVietnam General Director Le Manh Hung told The Hanoi Times on the progress of the $1.37-billion project, which, once completed, will supply 7.2 billion kWh to the national grid and contribute to the national energy security.
Aiming high for the new year
Employees at the Vietnam EFY Informatics Technology Company shared a positive sentiment coming to works on the first day after Tet.
“Clients do not wait,” smiled Chairman of Board of EFY Hoang Van Thuan, adding the company has already tested all staff for Covid-19 to avoid possible infections.
Vice General Director of Thong Nhat Bicycle Company Dinh Vu Minh Viet told the Hanoi Times the company has provided transportation services for taking employees living far away from Hanoi back to the city so that works can start as soon as possible.
“Due to the high risk of Covid transmission, we are putting more efforts in anti-virus measures to avoid disruption to the operation,” Viet said.

“All 15 subsidiaries with 16,000 workers have returned to works right after Tet. Despite the pandemic, in 2021 our members recorded an average gain of 10% in revenue, which helped ensure the average monthly salary of VND10 million (US$440),” Chairman of Board of Hung Yen Garment Company Nguyen Xuan Duong told The Hanoi Times. “The support from the company before, during, and after Tet was very important for us.
