PwC Vietnam Cybersecurity Director Pho Duc Giang and experts exchanged information

This annual event is aimed at improving the information safety of PV GAS and employees’ ability to respond to network security incidents.

Attending the conference were PV GAS Deputy General Director Pham Dang Nam and nearly 30 information technology (IT) employees of the corporation and its affiliated units, in addition to PwC Vietnam Cybersecurity Director Pho Duc Giang and specialists.

PV GAS has been widely applying IT and digital transformation – for example working from home, conducting meetings online and handling and signing of electronic documents - in most of its production and trading activities. PV GAS has closely cooperated with PetroVietnam in digital transformation and implementation of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system at the corporation.

PV GAS attaches great importance to information safety and security and has acknowledged the increasingly important role of IT in business operations and competitiveness improvement.

PwC Vietnam Cybersecurity’s specialists tested and evaluated the network security of the corporation and its affiliated units while assisting PV GAS and its member units to implement cyber-attack drills and incident response to simulated vulnerabilities. PwC Vietnam Cybersecurity shared with conference participants various common attack scenarios and international incident response practices to help PV GAS improve its response to information security incidents.

PV GAS’ 2021 information security drill shows that IT incident response is not the work of one specific unit but requires coordination, information sharing and support from organizations, relevant agencies and departments, as well as businesses in charge of information security. The training in cyber attack monitoring, analysis and prevention helps PV GAS raise its employees’ awareness and response.
