National promotion month launched

A national promotion month - Viet Nam Grand Sale 2021 - was launched on Wednesday.

The event aims to remove difficulties, seek opportunities to expand markets, promote domestic consumption, and recover business in the post-COVID pandemic period.

The event, which is organised by the Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) will last until January 1 next year.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that with a diverse combination of traditional and e-commerce activities, the national promotion month was expected to attract the participation of enterprises in all fields and economic sectors of Viet Nam as well as customers across the country.

Close co-ordination between State management agencies in guiding promotional activities will contribute to ensuring transparency and full compliance with regulations as well as the efficiency of businesses and the interests of consumers, he said, adding that enterprises could carry out promotion programmes with special offers of up to 100 per cent during the month.

The MoIT believes that with the response of localities, industries, businesses, especially from tens of millions of Vietnamese consumers, the programme will effectively stimulate consumer demand, boosting the circulation of goods and services across the country, helping firms revive production and business activities.

According to the deputy minister, the 2021 national promotion month is one of the activities that the ministry has been implementing, including a series of programmes that provide consultancy and information on import and export markets and those on connecting trade with the American, European and Asian markets.

The MoIT expects that this year’s programme will achieve good results because it is held over Christmas and the year-end, thereby consumer spending will increase significantly, Thang said, adding that this would contribute to stimulating demand for goods, and towards the flexible and effective implementation of the "dual goal" under the direction of the Government and the prime minister.
