Smartlog currently has more than 10,000 container tractors in circulation on the transport management system and more than 800,000 square meters of warehouse. Smartlog General Director Do Huy Binh said the company provides an end-to-end ecosystem of logistics solutions, helping businesses save time and minimize costs and operating personnel through digitalization and application of information technology solutions.

Strengthening logistics connectivity

Vietnam has a large number of logistics enterprises, most of which are small in size and remain weak in terms of finance, human resources and international operational experience. There is almost no link between stages in the logistics supply chain, and between logistics enterprises and import and export companies.

Development of the logistics market helps improve capacity and competitiveness of logistics, production and trading enterprises. Domestic logistics enterprises need to cooperate with each other to survive competition with international logistics giants and take advantage of opportunities associated with Vietnam’s international integration. It is important to form a network of large-scale Vietnamese logistics enterprises capable of leading the market, searching and sharing orders in order to minimize logistics costs and improve competitiveness of Vietnamese products and goods.

In promoting the logistics industry’s development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Agency of Foreign Trade and Newspaper of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Science and Technology’s National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development (NATEC) recently held a “Development of the logistics market for enterprises” seminar. Smartlog General Director Do Huy Binh told participants that in order to become the first integrated platform and ecosystem for logistics operations with the largest coverage in Vietnam and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Smartlog will increase the application of information technology to help logistics businesses create a neater and smarter supply chain.
