The event is aimed at assisting members of the OCOP program, who are business households, enterprises and cooperatives in doing business, promotion and sale of products in the context of complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic. It also helps them tap into the potential of digital technology and e-commerce by selling through live streaming.
This program is jointly held by the Hanoi Office of New Rural Development Program and the ASEAN Digital Transformation Research Institute (ASEAN Academy).
Ta Van Thang, Director of the ASEAN Digital Conversion Research Institute, said: “Within this program, we will train the members about livestreaming skills and how to write stories to promote OCOP products and thereby engage shoppers.
The OCOP products will include turmeric starch, turmeric essential oil, ginger root essential oil produced by Ba Be dried turmeric starch production facility (Gia Lam District); clean vegetable products of Van Duc Service Business Cooperative (Gia Lam District); vermicelli in So Village, Tan Hoa Commune (Quoc Oai District).
Nguyen Van Chi, Permanent Deputy Chief of the Hanoi Office of New Rural Development Program Coordination said: “The OCOP products chosen for the training are specialties from farms in the city’s suburban districts.”
This is the first time Hanoi holds the program, which is expected to be a practical action to help OCOP subjects overcome the difficulties wreaked by Covid-19. This will be the driving force for Hanoi OCOP subjects and others to improve their marketing skills and sell products directly to customers in the digital era, Chi said.
In the 2021-26 period, Hanoi strives to evaluate and classify 400 OCOP-labeled products each year. To realize the target, the city will give priority to upgrading regional specialties and traditional craft villages, and continue to assist the branding of certified products. This year, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade will coordinate with departments and localities to set up 30-40 new showrooms under the OCOP program. |
