Financial literacy to get boost with rollout of goWave by RHB

RHB Bank (Cambodia) Plc has introduced goWave by RHB – a holistic digital content platform designed to boost financial literacy among Cambodia’s young adults.

The initiative uses helpful bite-sized articles, video capsules and financial tools spread across the digital space, including via its website as well as various social media platforms.

“Acting as a guide, goWave by RHB facilitates and empowers young Cambodians towards achieving their financial goals.

“The initiative is being rolled out in three phases, starting with the goWave by RHB website.

“This will be followed by the goWave Lite Mobile App providing improved banking system integration, before the provision of a full suite of digital banking products completing our holistic service offering for young Cambodians,” said RHB Bank Cambodia CEO Wong Kee Poh.

Positioned as a one-stop personal finance hub, goWave by RHB allows users to interact with an automated chatbot through Facebook, providing them with the latest updates on the website and digital media, as well as relevant reading recommendations.

Additionally, virtual workshops will also be held by key social media opinion leaders to discuss interesting and useful financial topics.

“This initiative addresses a long-term view towards preparing our younger generation, providing them the education, tools and solutions needed for them to make better financial decisions throughout their adult lives,” said Wong.

The many topics and features available through goWave by RHB include finance 101 (for beginners); saving and budgeting; fitting your finances to your lifestyle; information about taking on loans; investment and the importance of it; a budget calculator to plan your month; and a “telco calculator” that fits your mobile needs.

Launched in a one-of-a-kind virtual media event, goWave by RHB is a digital community platform that underlines the commitment of RHB Cambodia in driving digitalisation efforts within the Kingdom’s financial industry.

The event held on Wed-nesday was carried out in a controlled environment in which safety equipment was worn and physical distancing practised.
