According to the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, in 2020, industry promotion programs focused on not only supporting and popularizing advanced production models, applying solutions to improve energy efficiency and improve the working environment as well as cleaner production, but also connecting the city’s key industrial product manufacturers with domestic and foreign partners. In addition, the department helped 14 rural enterprises engaged in the industry production of fine arts, wood processing, pharmaceutical production and food and beverage processing to renovate their machinery and equipment and apply advanced and modern technology in production.
In addition, the department coordinated with a number of departments, people’s committees of districts, towns, and industry associations in Hanoi on 46 surveys to select industry promotion projects, conducted 30 inspections of the implementation of industry promotion projects, and approved 16 industry promotion projects in rural industrial establishments, selecting beneficiaries as well as evaluating the results of industry promotion activities.
The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade also coordinated with seven suburban districts (Hoai Duc, Thuong Tin, Me Linh, Chuong My, Ba Vi, Ung Hoa, Thanh Oai), the Hanoi Youth Union, Hanoi Farmers’ Association, Hanoi Women’s Union, and Hanoi Cooperative Union to organize 10 training courses to improve management capacity, marketing, product design of rural industrial establishments, and six training courses on industry promotion policy for 600 industry promotion officers at district, commune and rural industrial establishments in the city.
To bring into play the results of these activities, the capital continues to effectively implement the 2021 industry promotion plan with the aim of mobilizing and using effectively all resources, creating a new driving force for the development of handicraft and industrial production, contributing to building a new countryside and shifting the city’s economic structure towards industrialization and modernization. It is also encouraging the transfer and application of science-technology, digitalization and cleaner production in order to improve the efficiency of natural resources, raw materials and fuel use, protecting the environment and human health, towards green growth and sustainable development.
In addition, the city’s industry and trade authorities will also create favorable conditions for rural industrial establishments to access digital economic development opportunities, improve productivity, quality, and competitiveness and effectively implement the roadmap for international economic integration. Targets include increasing the export value of handicraft products by 6-8 percent per year, creating 350-500 new designs to serve the domestic and foreign markets, and supporting the participation of 450-500 enterprises in domestic and international fairs.
The capital city’s industry and trade sector is planning to build dozens of industrial zones to introduce, advertise and sell outstanding rural industrial products. |
