PV Gas Hai Phong: Striving for safety, health and a clean environment

Despite being a newly-established unit of the PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS), PV Gas Hai Phong Company was recognized in 2020 for its efforts to ensure safety, health and environmental protection in order to develop the gas industry.

PV Gas Hai Phong: Striving for safety, health and a clean environment

PV Gas Hai Phong is a member unit of the state-controlled PV GAS group specializing in gathering, transporting, storing, distributing and trading of gas products. Due to the specific risks of fire and explosion, the company places security and safety among its top priorities.

The company’s consistent safety record has made an important contribution to the continuous and effective operations of the gas pipeline, gas station and LPG storage systems and to constant and steady gas supplies to customers. The Safety, Health, Environment management system is applied in accordance with ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001:2015 standards. Training in safety inspection and fire prevention are conducted seriously, and the management of occupational health and health care has been maintained and improved, contributing to improved employee health.

When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in early 2020, the Board of Directors of the Hai Phong branch put in place a series of disease prevention measures for employees and contractors, protecting staff while maintaining continuous operation of the gas works.

The success of the Safety, Health and Environment campaign has contributed to the overall success of PV Gas Hai Phong, as reflected in the various awards it has garnered, including first prize at the Dinh Vu Industrial Park Fire Fighting Festival and first prize at the food safety contest at corporation level.

At a recent PV Gas Hai Phong safety conference, PV GAS Deputy General Director Hoang Van Quang praised company leaders and employees for the results achieved in the past year. He also urged the staff, especially those working on safety, health and environmental issues to promote their sense of responsibility and overcome shortcomings, completing tasks and attaining the production and business objectives of the company and its Hai Phong branch.

On behalf of the company, Le Huu Hao, Deputy Director of PV Gas Hai Phong Company, said the branch would pay serious attention to the comments and proposals raised at the meeting. He also committed to continued measures to improve efficiency in the management of safety, health and environment issues, fully meeting policies and objectives of the corporation and the company.
