PM attends ceremony to start construction of $168mn industrial park in northern Vietnam

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Sunday partook in a ceremony to kick-start the construction of a multimillion-dollar industrial park in northern Vietnam.

PM Phuc and other delegates pressed ceremonious buttons to signal the building of Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park in Thai Binh Province during the sod-turning ceremony.

The industrial park lies in the planned Thai Binh economic zone whose development was already approved by the prime minister on October 28, 2019.

It is located in Thuy Lien Commune and Diem Dien Town, Thai Thuy District, with land use rights granted for 50 years.

The industrial park sits on 588.84 hectares and is projected to cost VND3.885 trillion ($168 million) to build.

The property is situated at a joint where Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh – all economic hubs of northern Vietnam – meet.

The under-construction industrial park is just 40km from Hai Phong’s Cat Bi International Airport so it would be convenient to import or export goods from there upon its completion.

The park is believed to attract huge projects worth billions of dollars in electronics and technology, Nguyen Khac Thuan, chairman of Thai Binh Province, said, adding that tens of thousands of jobs would be created in that fashion.
