According to the plan, Phu Yen will launch special missions and solutions outlined in the prime minister's Decision No.149/QD-TTg approving the National Remote Sensing (RS) development strategy by 2030 with a vision towards 2040.

According to the plan, by 2030, the province will focus on disseminating the regulation and technical standards pertaining to RS, while simultaneously spreading information about the applications of RS technology and its contributions to improving the socio-economic development of the province.

The province will invest in facilities and equipment for RS, as well as train human resources to apply RS technology in multiple economic sectors.

Following the vision towards 2040, Phu Yen will update technology and continue to spread this technology across the province.

Phu Yen People’s Committee assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to manage RS activities in the province, update RS image data including high-resolution images every year and super-high-resolution images every five years. The department was also charged with proposing the province People’s Committee policies to manage and improve the use of RS technology in investigating, monitoring natural resources, environment, dealing with climate change and promote socioeconomic development as well as ensure national security.

Accordingly, RS applications will be developed in different sectors including basic investigations and supervision of natural resources, environment, emergency search and rescue, natural disaster prevention, and climate change response, and international cooperation.

By 2020, the strategy aims to perfect the list ofservices in RS and mechanisms on information and data sharing; tighten state management in the field, and raise the quality of state management manpower.
