CPV Food Binh Phuoc will offer chicken for export to Japan, Europe, the Middle East, and more

Last week, Thai-backed C.P. Vietnam Corporation inaugurated CPV Food Binh Phuoc complex in Becamex Binh Phuoc Industrial Zone, the largest chicken breeding and processing project for exports in Southeast Asia.

The complex, located in the southern province of Binh Phuoc, has an initial investment capital amount of $250 million and an annual capacity of 100 million broilers after 2023. CPV Food Binh Phuoc will provide high-quality and safe chicken to domestic consumers and for export to Japan (45 per cent), Europe (35 per cent), Asia (10 per cent), and the Middle East (10 per cent). The project is expected to bring in $100 million per year in the first stage and $200 million in the second.

This project forms a key part of C.P. Group’s investment in Vietnam and is the country’s very first – and Southeast Asia’s largest – fully-integrated chicken export project.

The inauguration marked yet another milestone for C.P. Vietnam

The CPV Food complex started operations and produced the first batch of chicken for export this month, making Vietnam a major global poultry food producer.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong expressed his delight over the progress this move brings to the agricultural sector, highlighting how corporations such as C.P. Vietnam have helped the country become a major agricultural exporter over the decades.

“Based on such a pioneering project like the CPV Food complex, I hope that Vietnam will rank in the top 10 in global agriculture in the next 10 years, and continue promoting the miraculous achievements of Vietnam’s agriculture for the future,” the minister stated.

Also at the inauguration ceremony, Montri Suwanposri, C.P. Vietnam president, said, “Investing in Vietnam for more than a quarter of a century now, we deeply comprehend the macroscopic policy of the Vietnamese government and the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in promoting Vietnam to become a food processing country that meets international standards and increase exports.”

“With the experience of exporting poultry meat for over 20 years, we confidently set out on the mission to export poultry meat from Vietnam, improve local food quality, and put Vietnam onto the world map for branded poultry exporters,” he added.

The entire supply chain at CPV Food Binh Phuoc is 100 per cent traceable from ingredients to processed products, and is equipped with synchronous solutions to meet the environment and animal welfare requirements of advanced importing countries.

The complex applies advanced technology, safe production, and first-class processing methods. Meanwhile the application of 4.0 technology, AI, and big data in management and production enhances productivity and the quality of products, improves competitiveness with reasonable prices, and promotes sustainability.

“We have distilled our successes through 100 years of experience in the agri-food industry and more than 20 years of exporting branded poultry meat from Thailand for this project,” Suwanposri said. “Moreover, we successfully applied the most advanced technologies in the world. There are technologies that C.P. Group is applying for the very first time in its global operations at Binh Phuoc to improve productivity, product quality, and competitiveness while keeping prices reasonable. It will also help us achieve the sustainable development of exporting and livestock operations.”
