The Van Phong electrical substation project is invested by National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT). Central Power Project Management Board is in charge of managing the project. In addition, Power Transmission Company No.3 is the operator of the substation.
The energising of the 220kV-250MVA transformer at Van Phong 220kV substation will enhance the power supply, meeting the power demand for socioeconomic development of Ninh Hoa commune and Van Phong Economic Zone in Khanh Hoa province and neighbouring areas.
It reduces power outages, improves the stability and reliability of the power system, and increases the efficiency of the general business of the power sector.
EVNNPT launched 36 power transmission projects with a total investment capital of VND19.74 trillion ($858.26 million) in 2019.
This marked the highest investment in the past three years and fulfilled 101.2 per cent of the work assigned by Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).
Of the 36 projects launched, there were four 500kV power transmission projects and 32 220kV power transmission projects.
Among the launched projects were the 500kV Long Thanh, the 500kV Nho Quan Power, 220kV Ninh Phuoc, 220kV Thap Cham, and 220kV Lao Bao substation.
In 2019, EVNNPT also put into operation 43 projects, including 11 500kV projects and 32 220kV projects, ensuring power supply as required by the corporation and EVN.
