METALEX Vietnam 2020 has been opened today

On the occasion of Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide’s official visit to Vietnam, Vu Trong Tai, general manager of Reed Tradex Vietnam, the organiser of METALEX Vietnam 2020, shared, “Prime Minister Suga has chosen Vietnam as his first foreign destination to visit after taking office. This showcases the strong and substantial development of several aspects of the extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan. PM Suga also affirmed that Japan and Vietnam would strengthen long-term relations, promote investment and trade cooperation, and diversify the supply chain.”

According to Hirai Shinji, chief representative of the Japan External Trade Organisation's Ho Chi Minh  City Office: “Recently, the necessity to establish a sustainable and reliable supply system through the diversification of the production base has been recognised by Japanese companies, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. For Vietnam to maintain its position as one of the most attractive destinations for Japanese manufacturing companies expanding their overseas business, developing industrial clusters through enhancing business networks between Japanese and local companies motivated for advanced manufacturing technologies is necessary.”

With an aim to facilitate Vietnamese manufacturing firms to update the latest technology advancement, Vu Trong Tai affirmed: “The virtual METALEX Vietnam – Supporting Industry Exhibition 2020 will arm industrialists with brand-new technology to improve the efficiency and quality of the manufacturing process, as well as serving as an effective business matchmaking platform. I believe we can create growth drivers in the 'new normal' era of manufacturing, metalworking, and supporting industries.”

Sharing the same viewpoint, Shinji emphasised that, “JETRO Ho Chi Minh City plans to hold various projects to facilitate business relationships between Japanese and Vietnamese companies. One of the main events is the 'Supporting Industry Show 2020', which will be co-organised with Virtual METALEX Vietnam 2020, held on October 23-24, 2020. We strongly hope that our event will foster successful business matches between Japanese and Vietnamese companies, contributing to the development of the supporting industry in Vietnam.”

Cao Thi Phi Van, deputy director of Ho Chi Minh City Centre of Supporting Industries Development (CSID) highly appreciated this cooperation, “The Investment & Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), in collaboration with the JETRO in Ho Chi Minh City and Reed Tradex Vietnam, will organise the 11th edition of Supporting Industry Show 2020. I believe the exhibition will contribute to helping businesses in supporting industries to promote business activities and strengthening Vietnam's position in the global supply chain.”

In this new version of METALEX Vietnam, more than 100 international exhibitors from Japan, Korea, and many parts of the worlds congregate to showcase their products to more than 5,000 online visitors.

In the framework of the exhibition, Reed Tradex would collaborate with Vietnam Welding Society to organise a webinar themed “Welding industry towards the integration trend” featuring prominent specialists from Vietnam Welding Society and Japan Welding Engineering Society. Additionally, a webinar introducing “IRONCAD: The easiest and fastest way to 3D design” will be hosted by CreativeMachine from Japan. Furthermore, Mitutoyo Vietnam will also have a presentation about “Advanced technology and smart factory for Industry 4.0”.
