The award is one of the activities to concretise Directive No.01/CT-TTg dated January 14, 2020 on promoting digital businesses in Vietnam as part of the country’s digital transformation journey.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, said that, “Without make in Vietnam products, Vietnam can hardly develop into a digital economy and become a developed country. The advantage of make in Vietnam products is that Vietnamese businesses already spend time on outsourcing for foreign partners from module design to finished products.”

“This year, the award is launched in the COVID-19 landscape when the country prevents and fights against the pandemic and still makes an effort to promote economic development. Therefore, digital products serving the pandemic prevention and fight, education, and job creation will be a high priority,” he noted.

The award will encourage digital businesses to focus on research and development, innovation, and the creation of digital products to serve the country’s development demand amid the wide impacts of Industry 4.0.

To join the contest, products should meet two criteria: design and production in Vietnam; and satisfaction of Vietnam’s development demands in the Industry 4.0 landscape.

The five most excellent products in five categories will be awarded with the Most Excellent Digital Platform, the Most Outstanding Digital Product, the Most Outstanding Digital Solution, the Most Outstanding Digital Product Helping Narrow the Development Gap, and the Most Potential Digital Product.

The winners will get support to work with investment funds and commercialise their products.

The potential contestants should register from August 20 to October 20, 2020 here.
